Plant City is a city located in Hillsborough County, Florida, between Tampa and Brandon to the west, and Lakeland to the east.
Plant City is known as the Strawberry Capital of the World, and holds an annual Strawberry Festival in Late Winter. Eastern Hillsborough County Schools have the Strawberry Festival Day as a School Holiday. (Western Hillsborough gets the County Fair Day instead.)
The city was named after Henry Plant.
There are many rural areas in Plant City and surrounding areas (such as Thonotosassa), as well as newer subdivisions, such as Waldon Woods. |
